What is the movement?
29 05 2007We’ve recently been receiving a great number of emails asking what the Live Like Jesus Movement is all about. Let me explain:
1. We’re Real - Real people from all walks of life, from all areas of the globe who are coming together to follow Jesus in a real and authentic way.
2. We’re Honest - We are human. We are flawed and in desperate need of an intimate relationship with Jesus to bring wholeness to our lives.
3. We’re Moving - We know that Jesus called us to more than a destination; He called us to a life. He called us to bring Heaven to earth, right here and right now by our actions and how we share Christ’s love with those around us.
Be transformed into Christ’s likeness (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Become complete in Christ (Colossians 1:28).
In Jesus, we have a new identity and a new purpose for living. This new self is “to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:22-24). That doesn’t mean we are perfect… we’re human and all have faults. It simply means we are choosing to follow God with more than just our words… we’re following with our hearts, our minds, and our actions. Jesus showed us what God is like living in the flesh and our response is to be transformed into Christ’s likeness, to live like Jesus (as best we can). People will know Jesus through us not because of how loud we yell but because of how we love others, how we serve, and how we follow God in all aspects of our lives. We are not just hoping to be like Jesus in the next life — we are being transformed through Him in this life, right here… right now.

The church has left the building. You are the church. You are the movement.

Christianity today seems indeed to become the greatest enemy of the movement of Jesus Christ as Paul McManus (Pastor of the mosaic church) stated it!

This is supposed to be what Jesus came to teach..a simple way of life… that he expected of his followers… but.. it gets swallowed up.. by the gigantic organization.. that has taken its place…if people see a change in you.. the first question they ask is What church to you go to??? And if you happen to have gotten what you have without attending a church… then.. you are almost out in left field… with the general view being that if you aren’t part of org. religion.. then you are not legimate, nor credible… you are looked on as a freak… not part of the whole…although you know that you are part of the universal body…of Christ.Much change would have to take place for things to be diff. and although I long to see it… Im not sure it can happen… in my generation…..
I agree that being part of an orginization does not make you a Christian, but God does expect us to have fellowship with other believers and to belong to the family of believers. There are various reasons why He has instructed us to do this, and the truth is that we need each other to run this race successfully.
